This here is a project that me and my company GM&T UNIVERSAL PRODUCTION worked on for our midterm. We decided to analyze an adventurous themed movie called Red Notice. The project was divided into 6 sections, so we decided to divide the work because there were three of us, then work on the final draft together. This particular section (section five) was draft by student three. These here are some general information and analysis about the movie.
Section 5: Camerawork
Storyboard Analysis:
Camera Shot |
Camera Work |
Meaning |
|
Shot: top shot Angle: high angle Framing: top shot |
The
scene behind this shot is that the people on the sailboat are about to be
caught by Interpol agents, by the boats surrounding the sailboat which has high
class thieves in it. The high angle camera gives the audience a sense of
location and what is happening or what is about to go down. |
|
Shot: wide shot Angle: high angle Framing: point of view |
In
this scene, the two main characters are running from a bull in the middle of
the field. The shot shows everything from the audience to the characters, the
bull, and the field. You can tell from this shot, there is a scared or
worried kind of tension because the characters running with freighted faces
away from the bull, shows that they are scared to get hurt by the bull. |
|
Shot: full shot Angle: eye-level Framing: point of view |
This
camera shot shows a woman sitting at a desk, at eye level, and her black and
red boots on the desks, along with her outfit choice shows that she is a
powerful woman. Even the fact that she is behind the desk shows she’s the
boss. |
|
Shot: shallow focus Angle: eye-level Framing: point of view |
This
camera shot shows the character and the gold egg that captures his attention.
The egg is blurry so the characters expression can be seen. Their expression
is fascination and curiosity. When the director put the angle behind the egg,
he was showing what the character is going after and that the egg is going to
take a big part of the plot. |
|
Shot: master shot Angle: shoulder angle Framing: 3-shot |
This
camera shot shows all 3 of the main characters in the film. The angle is
kind-of mid and lower so the people seem powerful, but they don’t stand out
too much. This also shows that they’ve become a team. Their expressions show
them being fearless and how they are going after something. |
|
Shot: wide shot Angle: High angle Framing: point of view |
This
camera shot shows the gold egg once again that creates the plot of the film.
The camera shows a dark room with one light being turned on by the guy. This
scenery tells the audience that it was a surprise visit from the person
turning on the light. |
|
Shot: Master shot Angle: Shoulder angle Framing: 2-shot |
This
scene is about the two main characters trying to break in somebodies’ office.
One character is working with a device and the other is looking out for both
of them to make sure they don’t get caught. This shows that they are working
as a team. |
|
Shot: shoulder level Angle: Shoulder angle Framing: 3-shot |
This
scene shows the woman keeping the two main characters tied up so she can get
information out of them. This angle and framing show her power and control
over situations. |
|
Shot: single shot Angle: eye level Framing: single |
This
scene shows the character surrendering by putting his hands up. The angle is
single shot so the audience can only focus on him and his expressions. He
doesn’t seem too worried about getting caught, in fact, in the movie, he
jokingly tries to negotiate with the person that caught him. |
