Old media

The old media refers to any form of media that were present before new media and that were also used ot reach a very large public.

New media

Any form of media that helps to inform, entertain by using technological methods, platforms.

Convergence

The combination of 2 media forms ( technological and institutions) that were separated before.

Media convergence

Media Convergence refers to the merging of different types of mass media such as Traditional Media, and New Media.

Technological convergence

Technological convergence is where many media work together in order to accomplish a similar goal.

Network convergence

The provision of telephone, video and data communication services within a single network.

Audience engagement

Audience engagement is the way the audience ( the people using the media) uses the media regardless the location where they are situated or the activity that they are doing.

Promotion

A marketing tool, used as a strategy to communicate between the sellers and buyers.

Consumption

The amount of information that is ‘’consumed’’ or used by a group of people or by a single person.

Cross-media convergence

Cross-media is where companies that create medi work vertically and/or horizontally.

A brief synopsis of the film (5 marks):

500 years ago, on a land called Kumandra, there was prosperity and harmony where dragons and humans lived together. However, a group of horrible demons called The Druun wanted to take over the world, so they started to destroy everything. Dragons who were fighting these demons were not strong enough so they were all destroyed by the demons, except for the last one named Sisu. But once the dragons were gone, humans started fighting each other because they wanted to gain more and more powers. This continued till 500 years later after the emons had taken over Kumandra. Kumandra was divided into the Heart tribe and the Fang tribe.

Raya the daughter of the chief of the Heart tribe was always passionate about dragons. She quickly became friend with Banga the daughter of the Fang tribe despite the differences between the 2 tribes;  Raya and Naamari both showed great passion for dragons. However, the Fang tribe who always wanted to gain more power tried to steal the orb that the Heart of Tribe had. The orb was a magical stone in which were emprisoned all the Drunn who were the demons. Because the tribes were fighting, the stone fell on the floor was smashed to pieces. As a result, all the demon who were contained in the stone were released.

Consequently, Raya went on adventure to try to find Sisu the last dragon in order to restore the peace that existed between the 2 tribes 500 years ago and to definitely destroy the Druuns.

Some magazines talked about the  animation.

In the posters that they made, they designed a detailed description of Raya, the principal character in first plan.

Walt Disney studio Motions also created posters to promote the animation

In newspapers.

Disney + released the movie on their channel.

For a larger audience, they released the movie on Diney + they same day it was released on cinema.

Those who were not able to go at the cinema, were able to access the film at home on their Television.

Disney used their official site Disney.com to promote and give  a little synopsis of the animation

They used colorful and amazing representation of the characters to attract the audience.

Pixar used their Instagram platform to promote the movie.

Walt Disney Studio home entertainment released the animation on Digital HP a month after the film released.

Perhaps on their  computer.

Walt Disney Studios Motions contacted the famous singer Jhene Aiko to sing ‘’ Lead the way’’.

They contacted jhene because they wanted to use a simger who had similar ethnic background with the characters of the movie.

The song was also released on radio and on youtube.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures released the animation on Cinema the day Walt Disney published it.

This was really efficient because it really helped In the promotion of the movie. Many people were ble to access it at once.

The day it was released on cinema, many people went to buy tickets and see the film. As a result it was the second most viewed streaming title.
