MISE EN SCENE PRELIMINARY EXERCISE 5

 MISE EN SCENE

Today's goal is to comprehend what is meant by mise en scene, and its different stages. Mise en scene is the display or positioning of topography and rostrum assets.

The aforementioned term is presented into seven elements, which are: setting, acting, costume makeup and hair, set = design/ props, composition, lighting and color. Mise en scene is used to help elevate the film from a series of moving images to an art form hence the reason why it is so important the film production.

Mise en scene infers designing, blocking, arranging objects and framing. Designing design refers to the visual elements that make up a film.  It helps to create the style and look of a film through the costume, sets, props and location choices, enabling us to dive into an alternate reality. The blocking process also involves working out the camera position and camera movement, and can impact the lighting design, set design, and more. Objects are signs that represent ideas, ideals and translate intended meaning in a film.

Composition is the art of arranging objects in a frame. So, the audience is in front of the idea of this object that is visually transmuted and transposed to the screen. Therefore, the object-sign on the screen is often only partially an object of reality. Framing is the presentation of visual elements in an image, especially the placement of the subject in relation to other objects, Framing is the technique of drawing attention to the subject of your image by blocking other parts of the image with something in the scene.
